April 29
It's April 29th

On this day in 1953 – The first U.S. experimental 3D television broadcast shows an episode of "Space Patrol" on Los Angeles ABC affiliate KECA-TV.

In 1967 - The Turtles releases "Happy Together"
"A special note regarding the cover which was the last one to be designed without any of the Turtles' input. It was designed by Tom Wilkes who seemed to be influenced by The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper for the front. It was shot in the bleachers at Beverly Hills High School. As the group lounges in front, a gallery, immune to the contagious good vibes, sits scowling in black behind. Most of the gallery was comprised of those who made their living from the Turtles' receipts, including White Whale heads Lee Lasseff and Ted Feigin, the Turtles' manager Bill Uttley (who worked for Reb Foster), their agent, lawyer, business manager, a roadie etc....Wilkes himself, is the hippie in the back row, while the elderly couple in front were cover photographer Guy Webster's parents (Paul Francis Webster was a noted composer, with "Love Is A Many Splendored Thing" among others to his credit..... )"
In 1989 - Van Halen releases "Fair Warning"
The album cover is taken from a painting by William Kurelek.
In 1983 - Men At Work releases "Cargo"
- Flock of Seagulls releases "Listen"
In 1985 - The Eurythmics releases "Be Yourself Tonight"
– Space Shuttle Challenger is launched.
