Leaving February 19

It's been quite a rainy day, as I write this blog I'm wearing my coat to get ready to go to the bar for a little bit, and it's still damp from earlier. I woke up today and was not into the idea of going to the VMFA, but Kris texted that Paul was with her and that she would send a Lyft my way to pick me up, so around 2:30 I arrived at the museum and we had a smoke and I had a cup of coffee in the cafe before we made our way around. I took some notes on some of my favorites, which lead a security gaurd to tell me I couldn't use a pen and that only pencils were allowed in the galleries. I guess I get it.
Paul was pretty funny when he pointed at Big Ben in this painting and said something to the effect of "People used to come from all over the world to see that thing, and every time I looked at it, it was bad news, I was late to work."

It kinda looks like the day looked outside.
This one made us giggle like little kids
"Sacred Fish with a Crown of Isis" - Unknown

Glass eyes enliven this fish, which also wears the Isis crown-a sun-disc between the horns of a bull. According to myth, the divine brothers Osiris and Seth struggled for control of Egypt. After defeating Osiris, Seth scattered his body parts throughout the land. Isis, Osiris’s wife, gathered the pieces for burial. She found his penis inside a fish, which she honored by declaring it sacred and forbidding anyone to eat it.
After that was Burning Hair practice which I walked to in the rain. I got splashed by a car, and managed to just laugh it off. Practice was a'ight. The Burning Hair tape "You Smell Like Bandaids" is finished and will be ready to sell at our upcoming show on the 25th.
I'm trying to have the artwork finished before tomorrow night.
After practice, Kelsey and I went to Aldi for some foodstuffs. When I got home I had a nice salad and some puttanesca, and watched a little bit of "Waiting for Godot"
and then finished up the first part of the blogpost for the 24th.
My copy of "Daydream Believer" by Mitch Horowitz arrived in the mail today. Might crack it open before I hit the hay tonight.
So with that, I bid you all farewell for now. Sweet dreams buttercups.
