Leaving January 8

I woke up to a message that we wouldn't be having Burning Hair practice. Sigh.
A bit of scrolling on the front porch.

I read the article I posted in yesterday's review post about Casa Malaparte.

This piece about Godard's "Contempt" called "Bang Go the Caresses" by James Romberger

"earnest and callow undergraduates"

A few pages of this.

"What David Lynch's diet can teach us about creativity"

I find it unfortunate that I don't remember anyone's birthday except for a few close friends and my mother, since I don't have Facebook to remind me anymore. I would like to include my friends on this blog to share their creative endeavors with whoever might be reading this (generally also friends). Also if you are reading this, please feel free to drop a note with your birthday on it and some links to your art (music, film, book, essay, whatever.) and I will make a point to add you to the post for that day, or if it's belated for this year, I will post about it in my daily review (i.e. the posts titled "Leaving..." Like this one!)

Thanks.

  1. Maybe Blogspot is the way to go. I can see what my friends are up to. I’ll try to stay connected this way. My birthday is both Bastille Day and the Birthday of Woody Guthrie. I’m singing backup with Outer World now. That’s my current artsy thing. That and perpetually trying to repair stuff.
